| Along the pier at Laguna Beach |
It's been a fairly laid back Saturday. Our talk of exploring the mountains and going hiking turned out to be just that- all "talk". Instead, we slept in, snuck in a workout, and then ate out for lunch and dinner while watching the NFL Playoff games. We are currently killing time at a local bakery before going to a cheap $2 movie ("Puss 'N Boots"). Tomorrow will also be filled with all kinds of "excitement" including laundry and fun work projects (insert sarcasm). We are, however, going to check out a church which I
am looking forward to doing. The church is fairly large and somewhat well known. It's called "Saddleback Church" and was founded by the best selling author Rick Warren, the author of "The Purpose Driven Life". The church looks like it has lots of opportunities for service and small groups with people our age so I'm excited to see how we like it. I'll keep you posted.
We were a little more adventurous on Friday this week and drove down to Laguna beach. We
LOVED it! It was such a nice beachside town with lots of cute store fronts along the ocean. We're looking forward to going back and exploring it further in the future. We included a few pictures of the scenery. Supposedly, off in the distance you could see a group of 4 or 5 whales spouting out water as they swam (this was according to a group of bystanders that I overheard talking). We enjoyed a picnic lunch on the beach while taking in the scenery.
AND while taking in the scenery Mike got an email informing us that he does in fact have the telemetry position in Riverside! He starts in mid-February and will do some PRN work to fill in the time until he starts. Good news :) Now we are starting the process of apartment hunting...

We also started planning my birthday weekend. We have a gift card to use for a hotel from Mike's brother, Tim (thanks, Tim!) that we are going to use in San Diego that weekend. We also plan to visit the San Diego zoo and the Safari Park as well as take in a few wineries along the way. Can't wait!
Enjoy the pictures. It's off to the movies for us for now!

ReplyDeletePics r mesmerizing! So glad u can see the sights. I've heard that church is solid. The book was life changing! How was it?
ReplyDeleteYeah, my church did a Bible study that included DVD clips of Pastor Rick Warren teaching. We really enjoyed it and learned a lot! I bet that church would be pretty cool. You will have to let us know how the church was after you go check it out-would love to hear about that!
ReplyDeleteP.S. SOOOOOO excited that Mike's job is officially back on! That runaround sounded so frustrating. Now you two can get back to planning where to live, etc. etc. Love you!
