New Jobs, New Rings, and New Stamps on our Passports

I know it's been at least two months since our last post on here but we legitimately have been crazy busy.  Mike finished up his short term contract at the ending of September in Munster, IN.  He moved back to Indy around then and picked up shifts at a local hospital that he had worked at in the past.  During this time I (Mandy) found a part time job at an elementary school working as a school SLP two days a week for a maternity leave until the middle/ end of December.  Mike was also able to secure an additional contract from November until the end of December at a local hospital in south Indianapolis (couldn't have worked that timing out any better since we are planning on moving in the beginning of January). We were blessed to find all of those positions in such a short time frame!

During all of this, we were able to apply for and both recieve our California professional licenses....oh, as well as get married and go on our honeymoon!!  The wedding could not have gone better; I was happy with every detail of it and will always remember that day with a BIG smile on my face.  Below are a few pictures from the day.

We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon and had a great time!  We were there for 7 days and spent quite a lot of time sitting on our butts- taking naps, lying in the sun, eating and drinking the days away.  Needless to say, we are both on diets now.  But it was worth it.  We did take one day to cruise the island by motor boat with a guide to show us some of the main attractions including homes of a few celebrities (Oprah, George Foreman, Mick Jagger), the largest mountains in St. Lucia called the Pitons (also the name of their most popular local beer!), and we went in a volcano (non-active, of course).  The volcano had formed mud from the cooled lava mixed with water. The mud was said to have great cleansing and healing qualities when rubbed on your body so we gave it a try.  There was a hot spring in the volcano we used to rinse it off afterwards.  I didn't really notice a difference but it was fun to try.  We also tried an authentic creole lunch at the end with cajun-spiced marlin, banana salad (which had boiled banana, mayo, and fish mixed together), tropical salad, rice, and banana mousse- not too shabby!   Here are a few highlights of the trip.

Starting off with a glass of champaigne; we had a complimentary bottle on arrival to our room.
A view of the pool with the ocean in the distance.  There was a swim up bar right next to this that was one of our favorites serving lots of fruity, frozen concoctions.
The newlyweds :)
Eating at "Armandos", an Italian restaurant at the resort.
A picture at another nearby resort (The Sandals "Grand") with the mountains in the distance.
The beautiful Pitons.
During our motor boat excursion stopping at a few fishing villages, Marigot Bay, and the Canaries.

"Cliff jumpers"- children who would do crazy flips and jumps from high cliffs for a dollar.

"Larry" the lizard

One of the scenic waterfalls we stopped at on our excursion.

Next up on our list is finding our new jobs in California.  We'll keep you posted!!
